Fashion is one of our favorite topics here at Medicare Beauty! That’s why we have decided to let you in on some of our fashion tips.
Have you ever walked into your closet and been enraged at the fact that you have so many clothes, yet nothing to wear? Well, there is a way around this. You simply just need to create new outfits.
We all have our favorite pieces that go perfectly together. Instead of using that blouse or those pants to make a completely new outfit, we stick to the same ten outfits we always wear.
But not anymore! Now you will have these fashion tips to help guide you through your closet and look at your clothes in a whole new way.
1. Don’t Be Afraid to Be Bold
Bright colors and big patterns can intimidate some people, so they just steer clear of them at all costs. But if you knew how to pair them together, you might reconsider.
Begin stepping out of your comfort zone by pairing one patterned piece with a solid piece. An easy outfit choice would be to match a pinstriped pair of pants with a solid colored shirt.
If you want to jazz it up a bit, go with a blouse that has some flared sleeves or a cute collar.
If you’re ready to leap out of your comfort zone, do the same thing, but add in bright pops of color. Be extravagant! Have fun with it but remember not to overdo it. An outfit like this is best done at most once a week.
2. Details Make A Difference
You can turn a “eh” outfit into a “WOW” outfit by simply adding one piece of clothing or jewelry. It’s all in the details. By adding a blazer that has a cool piping detail, your outfit can go from drab to fab!
If blazers aren’t your thing (they should be) then choose an eye-catching earring or necklace instead. No matter what you add, be sure to select something that you won’t hate by the end of the day.
Nothing ruins a piece of fashion more than the fact that it’s uncomfortable. That will send it straight to the back of your closet!
3. Necessary Neutrals
Speaking of pieces that you can re-purpose – Neutrals are a perfect example!
Every woman needs neutrals in their life.
My favorite piece of clothing that I own is a pair of a neutral colored pants. They are high-wasted with a tie belt, much like the ones in the picture.
Neutrals are great for creating new outfits. There is almost and endless amount of possibilities for a neutral colored piece of clothing.
4. Simplicity Can Be Hard
As women, we have a knack for over-complicating things. We look in the mirror, think, “There’s something missing.” Then we add extra accessories or layers that end up ruining a perfectly fine outfit.
I know this because I use to do this! I worked at a clothing store that made us wear 4-5 layers. That’s insane. Granted, the first layer was usually hidden because it was an undershirt, but still.
One of the best fashion tips I can give you is, when all else fails, keep it simple. You can do this by pairing a pair of jeans with a nice, solid top. These types of outfits will help you get out the door quicker too.
5. Statement Pieces Are A Girl’s Best Friend
Occasionally, it’s fun to be a showstopper. Maybe you’re not in the mood for simplicity. Maybe you’re in the mood for “oo la la”. Then you could add a statement piece to your outfit.
Whether you add a beautiful, big necklace or your top itself is the showstopper, you can always feel pretty with a statement piece on.
Find the piece in your closet that you never wear because you got it for that one thing at that one place that you think is too fancy and put it on! You can dress things down just like you can dress things up.
Organize Your Closet
I’ve learned that some people organize their closet by hanging the pieces of each outfit together so that they can grab the three hangers next to each other and go. However helpful this may be, it is damaging your ability to interchange certain pieces of clothing in your closet.
If you organize your closet in categories rather than outfits, you’ll learn that you have much more options. Put your tops on one side, your bottoms on another, and your outer layers on another.
By doing this, you aren’t limiting your number of outfits to just a few. You’ll become more creative when choosing your outfit. Thus, having more outfit choices.
